Martoccia Rosso di Montalcino
Rosso di Montalcino is the younger brother of Brunello di Montalcino. It is also often referred to as a “baby Brunello”. It is produced from 100% Sangiovese grapes from the same region as the Brunello; however, it needs to spend just 6 months in oak barrels. Because of this aging, Rosso di Montalcino is often lighter than Brunello di Montalcino.
Martoccia Rosso di Montalcino ages for 9 months in Slovenian oak and part in French oak barrels. It then ages for at least 4 months in the bottle. Wild berries and black cherry unite in this dry red wine with light sensations of vanilla and spice for a deep and balanced flavor.
