Italo Cescon Merlot

Merlot grapes are one of the world's most popular grape varieties.  Their soft flavor makes them ideal to blend with other grapes.  The name, Merlot, is thought to derive from the French word for blackbird.  Climate can affect the flavor that the Merlot grape produces.  Strawberry, plum, and tobacco are typical of northern climates, while blackberry, dark cherry and dark plum are more typical characteristics for southern climates.

Italo Cescon Merlot has an aroma containing notes of berries harmonized with delicate hints of spices.  The full and harmonious taste with notes of cherry, currant, and sweet licorice linger nicely.

Pairs well with: meat sauces, veal, beef dishes, and mushrooms
