Saturday, May 19th was an event to remember as Di Vino Wholesalers attended the Wine & Vine Fest in downtown Nicholasville, Kentucky. The wine tent was buzzing with patrons sampling wine and food bearing the Kentucky Proud label. Also in the tent, Di Vino Wholesalers made available their Italian wines, artisan pastas, Olive Oil and sauce, and Pellini espresso. Pasta samples of three dishes, Pizzoccheri, Orecchiette with Olive Oil & Chives, and Maccheroncini Fantasia Piccante (Spicy Pasta) were made available. Each pasta dish was perfectly paired with an Italian wine from small, family-owned vineyards. Wines featured that evening were Corte del Sole Soave, Italo Cescon Chardonnay, Italo Cescon Pinot Grigio, Cantina Montagna Sangue di Giuda (Blood of Judas), Lavorata Merlot, Veglio Barolo, Veglio Moscato d’Asti, and Veglio Sinfonia. All wines and pastas were available for purchase, and, in conjunction with Elvira’s Bella Pasta, proceeds of the wine sales were donated to Igo’s Boxing Club in Richmond, Kentucky, a non-profit organization benefitting local youth and young adults.
